Tackle
You don't have to worry about tackle since we will provide quality rods, reels, leaders, flies and lures for all options. However, If you wish to bring your own tackle here are some recommendation:
Fly: for trout, a 7-8 ft, #3 or 4 with FW floating line is the best outfit for small creeks whilst a a 9 ft, #4 or 5 will do for the larger streams. For spring shad fishing we will use a 9ft, #8 or 9 rod with fast sinking line. A # 9 rod with FW floating and intermediate lines will cover most of the saltwater fishing conditions.
Spin: 6 ft, 1/4-5 oz max casting weight for trout, 7 or 8ft with 1 oz max casting for shad and salt.
Personal equipment and clothing
We provide waders and wading boots (within a certain size range) for fishing in larger rivers. Please let me know your trousers and shoes size in advance . In the small creeks wet wading is the only otption and i recommend a good pair of boots, leggins and shorts. Air temperature would vary from 0-10 °C in winter and early spring to 30-35°C in summer so clothing depends on season. Even in peak summer, short sleeves should be avoided as we might be walking through very thick bush. A breathable long sleeve shirt is highly recommended.
